What is Tokani Art Agency ?

 

 

We believe that in order to sell art, it must not only be shown on a wall but presented in a way that gives the buyer an higher interest more than just looking.

 

There has to be a communication between the art and the observer. In our humble opinion something must trigger an initial attraction, then a relationship between the artwork and the potential buyer by understanding what the artist intended to demonstrate.

 

We coordinate exhibitions and art events that are different, we look for new concepts, new approach, exciting ideas to promote art.

 

Tokani Art Agency is a private organization based in Fiji, sponsored by silent donors and lovers of art.  Patrons of Tokani with  their passion for the  art support the development and promotion of local artists abroad.

Objectives

 

· Show Tokani’s Art  to the World and bring international artists to Fiji . 

· Create Cultural Exchange through Art, while marketing your own country

· Market Artists internationally, regionally and locally.

 

Activities

· Organize Art Events out of the ordinary (ex. Art Tourism Package, Island Art Retreats)

· Participate in major Art Exhibitions around the World(i.e. Florence Biennale 2009)

· Coordinate educational trips, courses & Exhibitions worldwide

· Organize workshops & seminars in Fiji and abroad 

 

 

 

Coordinating Exhibitions with a Difference 

 

 

We coordinate exhibitions and art events that are different, we look for new concepts, new approach, exciting ideas to promote art.

 

In 2009, we had the idea of creating an International Art Exhibition in Fiji with the concept of getting Diplomatic Missions to invite artists from their respective countries as a way of promoting their country and culture, hence the DiplomART title.

 

Combining local and international artists gave all exposure to each other's styles. Closing an Exhibition with a Gala Dinner and an auction also added to concluding with extra sales for the artists.

 

Why become a Tokani Member?

Being a Tokani Artist means that you can benefit from all marketing activities in priority whether to an International Exhibition or a special event you get more visibility and opportunities to sell your art.

 We will establish a strategy together and define what you would like to accomplish, generally speaking Tokani takes only 25% commission on sales. A specific contract is establish usually  with a 3 month trial period before deciding on a longer term together.
